Master Planning
Planning for the future
How can a hospital plan for technology changes and growth? What do the students want out of their new school? How much will improvements and maintenance costs change over time? These are some of the questions our master planners ask at the beginning of the planning process. Engaging client stakeholders from the beginning, our master planning approach is a collaborative experience, resulting in a flexible, comprehensive facilities master plan.
An integrated approach
Master planning begins by defining design criteria that will later serve as the basis of the facility design. Our approach integrates strategic, operational, and functional considerations to ensure that program requirements become the drivers of the design, and not the other way around. Critical tasks include defining the nature and uses of required spaces, the building area necessary to accommodate the planned uses, and developing a criteria to design responsive facilities.
