HMC Architects’ Senior Educational Facility Planner Sandy Kate, REFP, LEED AP; Design Principal James Krueger; and Principal in Charge Brian Meyers, LEED AP, are presenting at the Association for Learning Environments Southwest 2018 Regional Annual Conference in Denver, Colo. Three student mentees from Del Lago Academy will join the team: Cristobal Ruiz Martinez, Jessica Hernandez, and Starlee David. The focus this year is “Reimagine Schools: Where Passion Meets Purpose.”

The first part of the program, “Preparing Students for the Modern Workplace // Center for Innovation at the Leroy Greene Academy” will focus on bridging the gap between school environments and today’s workplace to better prepare students for successful careers. The HMC team will examine Leroy Greene Academy in the Natomas Unified School District and uncover the impact that their Business and Entrepreneurial Program and Center for Innovation has on preparing students for the current tech workplace. The program will conclude with a project presentation from the Del Lago Academy students. HMC mentored the students and provided assistance with a team project that focused on creating the idealized learning environment.
