Brian Staton received a piece of advice that changed his career path forever: “Whether you’re good at it, or if it’s right or if it’s wrong, always be doing something. It’s better to try and fail than to not try at all.” And so began Brian’s quest to never give up and to always strive to do more. It is in this spirit that he leads his studio to design high-performing Pre-K–12 projects for his clients.

Since joining HMC in 1992, Brian has played many roles, including project management, programming, design, and construction administration. As an expert in the Pre-K–12 arena, he has developed strong relationships with the Office of Public School Construction, Division of the State Architect, and local agencies that facilitate effective project development processes for his clients. He also serves as an advisor on HMC’s Board of Directors.
