Based in HMC's LA studio, Kate leads design teams in the development of memorable high-performance architecture to serve university, education and civic clients. She is committed to an integrated whole-building design process built on the belief that the great design solutions innovate by using the best ideas of all members of the project team—clients, users, members of the community, designers and engineers. Kate is an active GSA Design Excellence Peer and was elected to the AIA College of Fellows in 1996.
Kate’s career in architecture spans nearly 35 years and has touched many project types, including academic and research facilities, courthouses, libraries, and transportation stations. Her track record of design excellence has produced award-winning, sustainable projects throughout California and the Western United States. Equally important, her sensitivity to program and service has built a long list of truly satisfied clients and users.
“When we are at our best, the buildings we design communicate respect for the planet while elevating human experience.”
