Designing to Improve a Medical Center's Operational Efficiency
/ / Kaiser Baldwin Park Medical Center > Baldwin Park, CA
Breaking the mold from the often-impersonal style of traditional hospital architecture, Kaiser Baldwin Park boasts an exciting medical campus that captures the imagination with design creativity and innovative functional planning.
Components of this medical center include a seven-story, 240-bed hospital with major ancillary support services; three-story medical office building; and a subterranean power plant designed for cogeneration.
Focusing on the hospital users and visitors, the strong site design incorporates way-finding features that guide individuals to major entry and exit points. A large lagoon, fountains, and extensively landscaped park areas finish the award-winning facility’s exterior. HMC served as architect-of-record for this new 23.7-acre medical campus.
