The South Expansion at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center responds to the need for quality healthcare in a community faced with hospital closures.
LEED Silver certified, the new tower houses women’s services, newborn intensive care, and two medical and surgical patient care units.
A new lobby with an accessible chapel creates easy access for families to inpatient care units and celebrates the miracle of life with its adjacency to the women’s center. All private patient rooms are identical to facilitate safe delivery of care. Patient care units are supported with a centralized nurses station for common tasks as well as decentralized nurse work areas to keep nurses closer to their patients—a feature of the existing 1970s facility that was well established and highly valued within the hospital’s culture.
