College of the Desert—the Coachella Valley's established trainer of allied health providers—will prepare generations of nurses to meet the staffing shortages of today and the technological advances of tomorrow.

LEED Silver

The program’s emphasis on community health is reflected in the complex’s fundamental sustainability and energy efficiency, including green specifications and proposed LEED Silver certification.

An architectural language of arcades, horizontal planes, and materials unites the renovated nursing building with new construction. Animated by color, texture, and landscaping, the complex houses interactive instructional spaces, a Learning Resource Center and computer lab, and all the support functions that make the Division of Health Sciences hum. Skills labs and reconfigurable demonstration areas support hands-on learning comparable to what students will experience when training at partner hospitals.
