Covered Arcade Creates the Entrance and Gateway to the Project

Collaboration is key at the new Business and Technology Center at Mt. San Antonio College. The facility allows departments to share technology, staffing, and resources by merging all functions of the business school into one facility.

Responding to a growing demand for qualified business professionals, the center provides a focus for business study on the campus with flexible educational spaces that transcend the traditional lecture.

Set into a hillside at the center of the campus, the new facility merges with the existing topography and surrounding buildings. Terra cotta concrete block unites the buildings with contextual elements, while areas of the school with various disciplines are reinforced through unique massing. In the main courtyard, overhead canopies, bridges, and an amphitheater provide protected outdoor spaces to enhance interaction and collaboration. Sustainable features maximize natural light while screening direct sun.
