Designed to Develop Innovative Business Leaders for the Community
/ / UC San Diego Rady School of Management Phase 1 > San Diego, CA
On a mission to develop innovators into successful science and technology business leaders, the school’s new facility encourages the interaction of the school with the campus and wider San Diego community.
Phase I, constructed in 2007, brought two buildings together through open sky bridges and a central courtyard serving as the heart of the school. Its design reflects the innovation that the school encourages.
The design takes advantage of its location near the high point of the campus by opening up to dramatic ocean and hillside views. Each corner of the building invites interaction through a gathering space of conference rooms and common areas. For Phase 1, the design architect was David Rova, currently a principal and design director at HMC Architects, formerly with Ellerbe Becket, the prime architect for this phase of the project.
