Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif., today celebrated the official opening of its new Eggers Innovation Center, designed by HMC Architects. The HMC project team, Saint Francis students, educators, and key supporters of the school’s Light the Way campaign attended the event, which included a continental breakfast followed by a blessing of the new center.

The school’s Light the Way campaign provides tuition assistance, enhanced educator support, and building improvements that provide new spaces to foster learning and encourage community interaction, making the project possible.

With 29 new classrooms, science labs, robotics space, theater, and multiple collaboration spaces, the Eggers Innovation Center is the newest building on the 25-acre campus, enabling possibilities and creativity yet to be imagined. As longtime supporters of Saint Francis High School, Barry and Meredith Eggers are dedicated to making a lasting impact through their philanthropy and engagement with the school community. They see their gift as an opportunity for others to get engaged.

“This incredible new building, along with the support provided to students and educators at Saint Francis, reflects the dedicated efforts of so many to invest in the formation of many generations of Lancers,” said Saint Francis President Jason Curtis.

Opening the doors of the Eggers Innovation Center is a milestone of the Light the Way campaign and kick-off of what’s still to come. Construction on the next phase, the welcome center, will start immediately after the Eggers Innovation Center opens. The welcome center–also designed by HMC–will strengthen community and collaboration with a mezzanine space for gatherings, performances, events, educator workspaces, expansive dining commons, and modern kitchen facilities.
