As the vice president of Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Impact and executive director of HMC’s Designing Futures Foundation (DFF), she is committed to building a better world by investing in disadvantaged people and communities of color. Since its founding, the DFF has invested more than $1.5M in transformative nonprofits serving our communities with a focus on architecture, education, sustainability, and health and human services.

Brandon has over nine years of experience in Civic and Pre-K-12 planning and design. Brandon is committed to listening, interacting, and collaborating with clients to create healthy environments that respond to their needs. His approach results in spaces where users can not only live, work and play—but also thrive. Brandon holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Masters in Regenerative Studies from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Brian has more than 19 years of experience in various educational facilities, including visual and performing arts centers, libraries, and classrooms. He serves as a visionary, mentor, and motivator to the design team, advancing concepts, providing direction, and offering the latest technology. As a design principal in HMC's Los Angeles studio, Brian oversees projects. He ensures the design intention continues from inception through construction while remaining within the parameters of the scope, schedule, and budget. Brian is also a member of the South Pasadena Design Review Board.

For 35 years Jeff owned and operated Rainforth Grau Architects, a full-service K-12 education-specialized firm. Managing a staff of 40-50, Jeff and the team served a wide range of school district clients across northern California. Since being acquired by HMC in 2021, Jeff continues to hold a key role as a PreK-12 principal in charge, working closely with project leaders and architects to ensure objectives are clear, collaborative practices are used, and education-driven solutions are delivered. Jeff’s two most important goals are to make sure every client is listened to and that projects are focused on positively impacting students. Believing that every project, regardless of size or scope, has the potential to improve learning environments and impact education, he is dedicated to pursuing design opportunities that make a difference. Throughout his career, Jeff has worked on more than 350 school projects and gained a deep understanding and appreciation for educational needs. He brings this experience-based knowledge to every client.

Jennifer believes designers and architects have a responsibility to protect the natural environment. As HMC’s director of sustainability, she leads strategic initiatives for sustainable building firm-wide and aims to impact not just HMC’s designs, but its operations as well; guiding HMC in minimizing its footprint while maximizing its positive impact.

Kevin is an award-winning architect with more than 28 years of experience working in higher education, healthcare, and civic planning, design, project management, and operations spanning nearly every project type. Kevin has an intense project for architectural design, the juxtaposition of geometric masses and the constructability of complex projects. As a result, Kevin has served as either, the project architect or project manager for six award-winning projects. “Great design should be a democratic process and be made available to all clients and user groups across all financial spectrums.” A similar philosophy governs his approach to mentoring the next generation of architects: as he seeks to provide guidance, advice, and leadership opportunities—particularly to underrepresented minority architects-- which allow emerging professionals to develop the craft of designing and detailing architecture while learning the business of architectures. Kevin volunteers with several organizations and universities to support the next generation of architects. Kevin joined HMC in 2022 to focus on the building types he has always had a passion for: architecture that is experienced by and designed for the public.

While visiting the islands, Steve was inspired by unique buildings and structures and eventually decided to build his career in architecture. Since joining HMC in 1990, Steve’s experience has spanned a broad range of planning and design projects throughout Southern California. Today, Steve leads master planning, new construction, modernizations, and remodels for education facilities, with specialized expertise in security design issues for school campuses. He brings strong values and competency to HMC's successful completion of spiritual facilities throughout Southern California and is an excellent communicator with the ability to build consensus with diverse groups.
