Adrienne is a social impact leader who has spent more than 20 years transforming lives and strengthening communities through the power of philanthropy.
As the vice president of Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Impact and executive director of HMC’s Designing Futures Foundation (DFF), she is committed to building a better world by investing in disadvantaged people and communities of color. Since its founding, the DFF has invested more than $1.5M in transformative nonprofits serving our communities with a focus on architecture, education, sustainability, and health and human services.

Design Principal

Brian has more than 19 years of experience in various educational facilities, including visual and performing arts centers, libraries, and classrooms. He serves as a visionary, mentor, and motivator to the design team, advancing concepts, providing direction, and offering the latest technology. As a design principal in HMC's Los Angeles studio, Brian oversees projects. He ensures the design intention continues from inception through construction while remaining within the parameters of the scope, schedule, and budget. Brian is also a member of the South Pasadena Design Review Board.

His experience spans all aspects of a campus environment including student housing, athletic complexes, and academic buildings. James enjoys being creative and tackling new challenges; he has hand-built children’s furniture and recently embarked on a self-performed home remodel.

Julie is HMC's PreK-12 market leader and has 15 years of experience assisting PreK-12 districts throughout California to maximize and secure state funding. She is active in the Coalition of Adequate School Housing (CASH). She has served on the Legislative Advisory Committee, completed the CASH Leadership Academy, and recently received her Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP) designation with the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE).

As director of digital practice, Nash leads HMC’s vision toward the application and integration of various digital technologies including building information modeling, computational design, design analysis, virtual reality, and project delivery tools. An associate AIA, Nash has over 23 years of experience in the AEC industry and has led diverse teams to overcome the barriers of adopting new technology in architectural practice.

A licensed architect with over 20 years of experience working on a wide variety of project types, Jennifer’s experience as an architect and passion for the environment gives her a unique appreciation for the various constraints of a project. She strives to deliver the most sustainable project possible without negatively impacting budget, scope, and schedule. Jennifer believes designers and architects have a responsibility to protect the natural environment. As HMC’s director of sustainability, she leads strategic initiatives for sustainable building firm-wide and aims to impact not just HMC’s designs, but its operations as well; guiding HMC in minimizing its footprint while maximizing its positive impact.

With nearly three decades of architectural experience in the planning, design, and construction of education projects, Angel oversees school projects with a unique ability to guide teams in translating client priorities, expectations, and requirements into functional, efficient, and buildable design solutions.

For 35 years Jeff owned and operated Rainforth Grau Architects, a full-service K-12 education-specialized firm. Managing a staff of 40-50, Jeff and the team served a wide range of school district clients across northern California. Since being acquired by HMC in 2021, Jeff continues to hold a key role as the Regional PreK-12 Practice Leader, working closely with project leaders and architects to ensure objectives are clear, collaborative practices are used, and education-driven solutions are delivered. Jeff’s two most important goals are to make sure every client is listened to and that projects are focused on positively impacting students. Believing that every project, regardless of size or scope, has the potential to improve learning environments and impact education, he is dedicated to pursuing design opportunities that make a difference. Throughout his career, Jeff has worked on more than 350 school projects and gained a deep understanding and appreciation for educational needs. He brings this experience-based knowledge to every client.

Marko is a Lead Design Principal for HMC Architects in Northern California. He has over 15 years of experience designing education, healthcare and civic facilities. As one of HMC’s regenerative design leaders, he strives to instill innovative ideas into high-performance design solutions that positively impact learning and healing environments. An award-winning designer, many of his projects are recognized for high levels of sustainability and have achieved industry recognition. Most notably, the Evergreen Valley College Math and Science Complex and Evergreen Valley College Fitness Center were awarded LEED Platinum. CSUMB Joel and Dena Gambord Business and Information Technology Building is placed on net-zero energy emerging list and received LEED Platinum certification.

She has over 25 years of focused public K-12 educational architectural experience, with an emphasis in planning and process management. Her knowledge of the intricacies of educational projects, ability to work closely with planning groups, attention to detail, and understanding of communication and coordination have helped her develop strong working relationships across the region. She facilitates sound project solutions and has been responsible for successfully delivering many large educational projects, including three comprehensive high school campuses. Teri works closely with her team to ensure objectives are clear, collaborative practices are used, and innovative, education-driven solutions are delivered—ultimately ensuring HMC meets client goals.
