HMC Architects’ Managing Principal Kevin Holland, FAIA, NOMAC, LEED AP, Assoc. DBIA, has completed the Design-Build Institute of America’s (DBIA) comprehensive education, training, and certification testing program to achieve the design-build industry’s designation as a nationally certified Associate Design-Build Professional.
As managing principal of HMC’s Sacramento studio, Holland skillfully harmonizes the studio’s revenue and staffing, fostering an inclusive culture, strategically advancing the Sacramento studio’s growth, and seamlessly aligning the studio with HMC’s overarching strategic objectives. As a principal, Holland remains committed to bolstering business development initiatives in the Pre-K12 and community + culture practices.
Kevin says, “DBIA certification will better position HMC, and specifically, the Sacramento Studio to better serve our existing PreK-12 and healthcare clients that may be seriously considering design-build as a project delivery method. The collaborative approach of design-build will enable us, as architects, and our construction partners to derive innovative and budget-conscious solutions much sooner. This will only benefit our clients and their vision.”
With more than 29 years of distinguished experience in higher education, healthcare, civic planning, design, and project management, Holland is a renowned architect who has excelled in various project types. His leadership has been evident in notable HMC projects such as the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s Engineering Building Study, Manhattan Beach Begg Pool Facility Study, GROW Public Schools Arvin Classroom, and GROW Public Schools Shafter Classroom.
The DBIA is a membership organization that aims to advocate and advance single-source project delivery within the design and construction community. This project delivery method embraces architecture, engineering, and construction services under a single contract, thereby re-integrating the roles of designer and constructor. In addition to public- and private-sector project owners, DBIA members include practitioners from all project phases.
Congratulations Kevin!
