Chaffey College recently celebrated the grand reopening of their new aquatics center in Rancho Cucamonga, California. HMC Architects joined our partners New Dynasty Construction, Chaffey College leaders, students, faculty, and staff to celebrate the new $14.2 million center.
The project includes a full renovation of the existing facility including the new pool, pool deck with much-needed shading, two single-story buildings, 400-seat bleacher section, and landscaping. The aquatics center shut down in 2020 for renovation, and since then student athletes have used facilities at a nearby park. This new facility welcomes them home with a high-quality first-class center. The school’s swim team celebrated the homecoming by jumping onto the start blocks and taking a celebratory lap around the pool.
More than a world-class training and event facility for the school’s four swim and water polo teams, the new center increases capacity for community events and summer swim instruction programs. Used by both Chaffey College and the surrounding Rancho Cucamonga community, the pool is a home for local youth swim teams and a place for neighborhood children to take swim lessons.
