HMC Architects’ Director of Healthcare Design George Vangelatos will join Construction Specialties’ Jennifer Michalski for “Designing for Care: Human-Centered Healthcare Environments Across the Lifespan,” an Architectural Record continuing education webinar on October 27 at 11 a.m. Pacific time.
Vangelatos will share HMC’s approach to the Plumas County Skilled Nursing Facility in Quincy, California, exploring how design can strengthen dignity, comfort, and connection for residents in a rural community. The presentation will highlight how smaller-scale neighborhoods, places to gather, daylight, and landscape views support daily life while accommodating clinical and operational needs.
The broader discussion will examine how planning, materials, and building systems can improve the care experience for people of different ages. Together, the presenters will consider how healthcare spaces can meet demanding performance requirements while creating a more welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff.
The webinar is sponsored by Construction Specialties and offers 1 AIA LU/HSW.
