It’s not news that current economic conditions have left California’s state budgets in limbo. Among the hardest hit by budget cuts has been the state’s education system, forcing school districts—from administrators to teachers to students—to be more creative with their resources. The uncertainties of the state budget and global bond markets have left many districts concerned about the future success of their school. John Nichols, HMC’s Pre-K-12 Practice Leader, has written an industry paper exploring some of these concerns, and what districts can be doing to make the most of a challenging situation.
