Greg Stolrow, a seasoned financial professional with prior financial and operational experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, joins HMC Architects as their new chief financial officer (CFO).

“It was the size, reach, and reputation of HMC Architects that made this opportunity so appealing,” Stolrow explains. “Plus I’m really looking forward to being a member of this team-oriented, collaborative environment.”

With Stolrow’s previous experience—as the CFO of a ten-office international engineering firm and as a principal consultant providing advisory services to mid-size architectural and engineering firms—he brings a global perspective of the industry to HMC Architects.

Previously, Stolrow served as the chief financial officer at BORM Associates, Inc., a multi-disciplinary engineering firm out of Irvine, Calif., for more than six years. He was responsible for the accounting, finance, IT and operations of all offices and leveraged his background in systems and process improvement to improve operational infrastructure and lead one of the industry’s first implementations of Deltek Vision. While at BORM, Stolrow also guided initiatives designed to build more effective work groups, reorganized the service delivery process, and improved compensation and incentive programs. His efforts led to increased profits through specialization, accountability, and greater efficiency—working laterally and vertically to achieve aggressive goals.

After BORM Associates, Stolrow became a principal consultant of a national transaction and strategy firm, Oberman Associates. There he provided consulting services such as advisory on strategic restructuring options and acquisition reviews to engineering and architecture firms.

“We’re really looking forward to working with Greg,” confirms Randy Peterson, FAIA, LEED® AP, president and CEO of HMC Architects. “The combination of his strong ethics and broad expertise make him a perfect fit to help us reach our strategic business goals.”
