One of the greatest challenges in healthcare is aging facilities. Capital resources are scarce, and the financial requirements to maintain and upgrade the physical plant are staggering. The built environment plays a key role in the ability to successfully implement patient-centered care and create a healing environment, which is a vital consideration in a Planetree facility. Through a “how-to” approach, this presentation will offer suggestions, ideas, and tools to re-purpose and adapt existing space to focus on patient-centered care.
