We are honored to announce that HMC Architects was featured as one of two case studies in the recently released AIA 2024 Materials Pledge Summary, Materials Pledge by the Numbers. This feature highlights our ongoing commitment to sustainable design, innovation, and leadership within the architectural profession. Being selected as a case study affirms the impact of our work and reinforces our role in shaping the future of the built environment.
Since committing to the AIA Materials Pledge in 2019, HMC has established robust internal processes for data collection and evaluation that shape our practice. Our goal is to design both indoor and outdoor environments that foster human health and wellness within our communities, while contributing to improved environmental outcomes globally. The reporting framework provided by the AIA Materials Pledge equips our teams to make informed, data-driven decisions about materials, ensuring our work continues to align with these values.
As designers of the built environment, we have a responsibility to protect the natural environment, and sustainability must be ingrained in who we are. In support of that mission, we launched our 2025-2030 Sustainability Action Plan earlier this year. The plan is a bold and comprehensive roadmap designed to drive sustainability across our operations, projects, and advocacy efforts. There is great power in the work we do to raise the level of awareness around sustainability internally at HMC, with our extended project teams, and within our communities. The action plan guides us as we strive to do better and make a stronger impact on our firm, communities, and planet.
