On June 20, more than 500 of the region’s leading architects, designers and building professionals gathered at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the Los Angeles Business Council’s 42nd annual LA Architectural Award luncheon. The awards program acknowledges the outstanding projects that make LA livable, beautiful and economically vibrant. They honor design teams for both their aesthetic vision and for their contributions to the community as a whole. Among the award-winning facilities was the Los Angeles Center for Women’s Health, which Dignity Health commissioned HMC to design. The project received top honors in the Healthcare Interiors category.

Take one step into the new facility, and you’ll realize that it is a new model for the future of women’s health in urban environments. The goal of the project was to create a spa-like environment that is an attractive, all-inclusive women’s center that responds to the needs of working professionals and residents in Downtown LA. Specializing in women’s cardiology, breast imaging, urogynecology, gynecologic oncology, and gynecology/menopause, the Center offers patients a comprehensive set of services with a single appointment. HMC designed the interior environment not only to alleviate stress, but also to align with the quality and caliber of care provided by the Center for Women’s Health. The design incorporates hospitality-inspired elements, which results in a spectacular use of color, texture, and furnishings that inspire the human spirit. This progressive environment is revolutionizing the future of women’s healthcare and wellness.

“We congratulate all the winners of the LA Architectural Awards, which celebrate the very best in forward-thinking design that enhances economic vitality and quality of life throughout Los Angeles County,” said Los Angeles Business Council President Mary Leslie.
