HMC Architects was selected to lead the Master Plan for the 140,000 SF Palm Springs Convention Center. In collaboration with the Palm Springs Convention Center Steering Committee and key stakeholders, HMC will identify and prioritize future capital improvement projects. This project aligns perfectly with HMC’s Community + Culture practice’s mission to create meeting and gathering spaces that positively impact communities.
Convention Centers play a vital role in the growth of local economies, as well as foster innovation, collaboration, and progress. Convention Centers are buildings where the brightest minds in a specific subject go to network, develop leadership skills, influence public policy, and deepen knowledge through continuing education. The client aims to modernize the Convention Center to reflect what a convention center looks like in 2023 and beyond. HMC has been asked to provide a fresh look at their existing facilities and capitalize on underutilized spaces, such as existing exterior patios.
This master planning project is an excellent opportunity for HMC Architects to connect with the City of Palm Springs, the Convention and Tourism Board, and other industry professionals for networking and future project opportunities. PSCC and Ontario Convention Center are both managed by ASM Global, and our previous positive working relationship working with GOCAL (formerly Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau), was a key differentiator of our winning this project.
The planning process began in June of this year, and it is expected to be completed in September 2023. Congratulations to Kyle Peterson, Brandon Gullotti, and the Community + Culture practice on this incredible win. The team is excited to create a convention center that will benefit the community and attract visitors for years to come.
