HMC Architects’ Senior Project Manager Jaclyn Duran-Rubio has recently achieved a significant milestone in her career by becoming a licensed architect.

“Achieving my license was always a personal goal since architecture school,” she said. “Although I was ‘done’ with architecture school, I wasn’t going to feel ‘done-done’ until I crossed the licensure finish line.” Despite a lot of stops and starts throughout the process, she was determined to get her license, however long it would take. She says that the test-taking/study process, although exhausting was also an opportunity to expand in technical knowledge which is a great value in itself and a representation of her dedication and commitment to our profession.

In her career, Jaclyn has worked on a variety of healthcare projects, both large and small.  Recently, she has worked on a variety of campus architect projects with one of HMC’s largest healthcare clients including an ongoing emergency department expansion and renovation project currently under HCAI plan check with start of construction anticipated by this summer.  She says “Seeing it evolve from initial feasibility, through programming, design, and almost to construction has been exciting to be part of the overall process. I’m looking forward to seeing it through to completion.”
