Last week, the Ontario studio hosted our first Crop Co-Op Farmer’s Market, engaging colleagues to bring in excess produce from their home gardens to “sell” to each other. A total of 55 lbs of produce was brought in, including the lettuce and radishes we harvested from the HMC garden on the premises.

There were tomatoes, zucchinis, apples, plums, lemons, corn, lettuce, radishes, herbs, squash, cucumbers—all donated from our home gardens! A total of $131 was collected from staff donations, which will be matched by the HMC Designing Futures Foundation and donated to Inland Valley Hope Partners, a not for profit organization that ensures the empowerment of people in need by providing food, shelter and supportive services.

The Crop Co-Op Farmer’s Market will be “open” on Thursdays, can’t wait to see what else our gardeners bring in this summer!
