HMC Architects’ Project Designer Shweta Joshi, AIA, LEED BD+C, has recently achieved a significant milestone in her career by becoming a licensed architect. Shweta is no ordinary architect. She is a project designer, sustainability advocate, digital practice champion, and Designing Futures Foundation (DFF) board member who brings her deep passion for designing educational spaces to her work at HMC in San Jose.

For Shweta, licensure means empowerment. The experience of preparing for the exams broadened her skills and technical knowledge, and despite moments of doubt, she persevered and came out with more experience and expertise. Licensure is a recognition of dedication to the architecture profession, and Shweta is thrilled to join the ranks of licensed architects.

“This accomplishment would not have been possible without the support of so many. Fortunately, I have found my crew at HMC and made many friends who encouraged me to power through this journey. Many great people have given me guidance and mentorship and contributed to my growth along the way,” said Shweta.
