HMC Architects’ BIM Technologist Tadeh Hakopian will be speaking at Engineering News Record’s (ENR) Future Tech 2020 and AEC Tech 2020 on October 15 and 16.

At ENR Future Tech 2020, Hakopian will explore what is possible with open source tools like Python, Git, Dynamo, Javascript in a panel titled “Coding for the Masses.” At ENR FutureTech, business and IT leaders in architecture, engineering and construction explore emerging technologies that can enhance construction productivity, profits and safety. Through a series of thought-provoking and interactive sessions participants will learn about emerging, next-generation AEC technology.

At AEC Tech 2020 he will lead a workshop titled “Python in Dynamo-Coding in Visual Scripts” and guide participants through the basic concepts of coding in Python in Dynamo nodes and work with them to develop progressively advanced code.  Coding can provide new capabilities and flexibility to designers interested in creating and controlling their own project design tools. AEC Tech aims to offer the most enriching workshops in the latest technologies, engage industry leaders and provide a forum for project growth, development and networking. The annual event fosters an open community of knowledge sharing to promote industry progression.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is so much more than a technology—it’s a complex design and construction process that helps architects create innovative buildings of the future. The process encompasses several different design tools and methods with the end goal of making every phase of construction and design as efficient, safe, and cost-effective as possible. Coding provides designers with new capabilities and flexibility on their projects and Hakopian regularly shares his knowledge to encourage efficiencies in project workflows to help designers bring value to their firms and clients.

In both events, participants will learn how to leverage tools and apply them to their design solutions to provide greater value to their process and to their clients. The events will be held virtually, to learn more or to register visit ENR’s or AEC Tech’s websites.
