Today marked a significant milestone for Harbor-UCLA Medical Center as it celebrated the ceremonial groundbreaking of its hospital building. Joined by the collaborative efforts of the Hensel Phelps + HMC Architects + CO Architects design-build team, along with representatives from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles County of Public Works, L.A. County Health Services, Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, and County of Los Angeles, the event marks the commencement of construction and symbolizes a commitment to community well-being in Los Angeles County.
Scheduled for completion in the spring of 2028, the new Harbor-UCLA Medical Center will meet the growing demands of healthcare delivery and ensure structural resilience in compliance with Senate Bill 1953, which is set to take effect in 2030. As the project unfolds, it aims to redefine the county’s healthcare landscape, providing a beacon of hope and healing for generations to come.
