Bassetti Architects, a Design Studio of HMC Architects, recently hosted Imagining Forward: A Regenerative Materials Future for Portland at its Portland office as part of Zero Coalition’s Sustainable Building Week.
Guided by mindful MATERIALS’ Common Materials Framework, HMC Architects’ Jennifer Wehling, Mindful Materials’ Richard Garrett, and EwingCole’s Maria Papiez explored how regenerative materials can become the standard, not the exception, in the built environment. Participants had the opportunity to ask “what if,” and imagine a holistic, sustainable future. The discussion reflects HMC’s commitment to Designing for Good by advancing sustainable practices that create healthier communities and a more resilient future for Portland, and beyond.
Sustainable Building Week is an annual event that offers a week of events designed to improve cross-disciplinary education, connectivity, and collaboration toward sustainable design across the city of Portland and beyond. Through inspiring conversations from sustainable design leaders, the annual event helps drive collective action toward a built environment that benefits people, communities, and the planet.
