Pasqual Gutierrez, 62, of Walnut, has been reappointed to the California Architects Board by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, where he has served as a member since 2006. He is currently the Board President and also serves on the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards’ (NCARB) Committee on IDP.

Gutierrez is a principal serving on the Board of Directors with HMC Architects. As director of architecture, he oversees HMC’s project management, construction administration, project delivery, sustainable design, client advocacy with state agencies, and leads HMC’s mentoring and training programs for emerging professionals. Previously, he served as principal of Gutierrez Partnership from 1988 to 1999 and architect for Reel Grobman Associates from 1983 to 1988.

Gutierrez, a veteran of Vietnam with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment, was a recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation in October 2009 for his service. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) where he was the 2007 AIA Inland California chapter president, and 2008/2009 director of the AIA California Council and California Architectural Foundation
