The HMC Designing Futures Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to the Riverside Museum of Art (RAM) to support the:
// Redesign/renovation of the museum’s Julia Morgan history wall
// Creation of didactics and a self-guided tour to highlight the building’s unique architectural elements
// Design a of a new donor recognition system
// Landscape update
// Creation of a portable kiosk/sign
HMC’s Dan Benner, a RAM board member, served as the champion for the grant. The DFF board of directors was particularly impressed by the potential impact of the project, especially considering that RAM serves approximately 15,000 K-12 students annually and the Julia Morgan exhibition is a main feature of the museum’s arts education programs.
Coincidentally, the DFF award was made the same week as the AIA announced that Julia Morgan will be the first woman honored with the AIA’s Gold Medal and her legacy will be celebrated at the AIA’s 2014 Annual Conference.
