Last week, the El Monte Union School District held a groundbreaking ceremony to start constructing El Monte High School’s new track and field facilities. The HMC Architects design team joined district officials, high school staff, and distinguished community members in commemorating this milestone for the school.

Thanks to the support from bond measures HS and D, El Monte Union School District is set to upgrade the track and field facilities across all five of its high schools. The enhanced stadium will feature a rubberized track, improved field surfaces, modern bleachers, concession stands, new restrooms, upgraded parking, and grand entrances, creating a central space for the school and community.

This stadium is designed to serve as a vibrant hub for athletics and a wide range of activities, from health and wellness classes to student performances and community gatherings. With a scheduled completion date of May 2025, the new facility promises to boost school and community pride by hosting track meets, football and soccer games, graduations, and pep rallies.
