HMC LA’s interiors group recently organized the studio’s participation in the 17th annual Herman Miller “We Care” event. The program is a partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Herman Miller and leading design firms. “We Care” takes places in 30 cities across the U.S. and Canada during the same week. Each firm hosts a DIY craft table and this year’s projects were truly inspiring. Participating in this fun holiday initiative on behalf of HMC was Sepi Salehirad, Kaysha Bucher, Kenneth Ong, Adrienne Luce and David Renken.
The children smiled and laughed as they made snow globes, jewelry boxes, chocolate chip cookie gift jars, as well as decorative holiday trees at HMC’s table. Our team cut cardboard triangles that the kids could slide together to create a holiday tree. They worked with each child to decorate the trees with markers and patterned tape. During the event, Santa even made an appearance and a clown made balloons for the kids as they squealed with delight. For our team, the best gift of all was watching the children leave with bags full of precious treasures for their family members. Happy Holidays!
