HMC Architects announced that Marko Blagojevic, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C was promoted to managing principal of the firm’s San Jose studio where he is responsible for its strategic direction and overall performance.

Previously serving as design principal, Blagojevic’s move comes at a time when the firm is taking important steps to invest in the future of its Northern California offices and overall position in the region.

“Marko’s work embodies our belief that design should enrich people’s lives,” said HMC President and CEO Brian Staton. “His creative insight, project management skills and passion for sustainability and regenerative design will be key to enhancing our client experience and leading our San Jose team.”

Since joining HMC, Blagojevic has earned an amazing reputation with the clients he serves in the firm’s higher education, PreK12, and healthcare markets. Though design excellence has always been the driving force in his career, he has dedicated the last few years to pursuing and integrating regenerative design principles in his studio’s projects and has been instrumental in making it part of HMC’s DNA. He’s also been largely involved in the active pursuit of new work, and management and development of large PreK12 and higher education projects.

For HMC clients, Blagojevic’s promotion indicates considerable support towards the firm’s San Jose studio by bringing in a proven leader to improve the quality of its deliverables and project approach.

“As managing principal, I am on a mission to empower my colleagues so that we can grow our studio, elevate our level of design expertise, and be recognized as leaders in the healthcare and education markets,” said Blagojevic.

HMC’s vibrant downtown San Jose studio is ripe for growth and utilizing champions of high technology is helping the team provide advanced client services and design that was inconceivable just five years ago.
