HMC Architects announces the promotion of Brian Staton to regional managing principal. Staton was formerly a managing principal of the firm’s Ontario, Calif., studio.
Staton will provide oversight, leadership, and support for the firm’s four Southern California studios—Los Angeles, San Diego, Irvine, and Ontario—along with their Las Vegas studio through coordinated efforts in developing new projects, lines of business, project planning, staffing requirements, and operations.

According to HMC Chief Practice Officer, Chris Taylor, AIA, LEED® AP, “Brian has had a very strong history of excellence in design, project management, and running one of the largest studios in our company. He is the perfect choice to advise all our offices in Southern California.”
Bringing with him more than 20 years experience, he has led the Ontario studio to design high-performing Pre-K–12 projects throughout California, focusing on public educational environments. Staton’s experience includes projects for Redlands Unified School District, Delano Union School District, San Jacinto Unified School District, Alvord Unified School District, Murrieta Valley Unified School District, and San Bernardino City Unified School District.
Staton has been employed with HMC Architects since 1992 and serves as an advisor on HMC’s Board of Directors.
